2018 was a busy year around the Pueblo House(s) with all the renovations we’ve undergone. We’re happy to report that we are very close to being finished our third and final youth space, thanks to plenty of volunteers (Stan Clark with Art Martinez helping) and local businesses. Our future Media Space (812 E 5th St.) will have computers, printers, media/editing space, recording studio and a green room when it’s all done. What a great addition to our Music/Radio space *824 E 5th St.) and our Art & MakerSpace (816 E 5th St.) That’s a half block of fun on fifth!
Our volunteers are getting ready to bring some exciting programs to youth, starting the 2nd week of January. There will be arts & crafts, guitar lessons, maker space and computer & radio programs for youth to enjoy and/or learn. This is a place where youngsters can create their own spectacular and imaginative things. We’re happy that Tim Roush is back and planning to do MakerSpace twice a month. There will be plenty of cool things being made, even radios that will pick up our very own radio station 98.5FM KOYC.
We’re still looking for someone to manage the house(s), maybe run a program (or ensure space is ready for other programs) and do a bit of yard work for reduced rent, so if you or anyone you know is interested please send them our way. We need real go getters, doers and active folks who want to make a difference in young lives. We’d love to have a handy veteran or college/university student/intern. We’re taking applications/resumes now so contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay tuned for more on these and other programs. We all look forward to having a wonderful New Years and ringing in 2019! We’ll be live on the radio New Years Day.
all of us at Pueblo House and KOYC Radio wish you all the best in 2019!
