Update on Media House & KOYC Radio 98.5FM

We’re thrilled to report that Stan’s work has passed the electrical service code requirements today.   Now we can get electric service to the house. However we’re all shaking our heads at the hurdles & demands…like having 13 outlets in a kitchen that’s maybe 12 x 10 at best and where we presently have 11 outlets.  We were told this morning we need two more because the one is 3 ft from the sink and it needs to be two feet away.  Another was 2 ft from the sink on the other side but was just over the 4 ft requirement to the wall and therefore we need another plug.  Does any of this even make common sense?  Bureaucracy has run amuck.  We have plenty more to do inside but at least now we’ll have on site electric to run tools in the cold weather.

We’ll be working on plumbing next and if anyone has an supplies lying around they don’t need please consider donating them to the Pueblo Media House.

We’re also excited to report that we now have a website for KOYC radio, where you’ll find a whole lot of information including our schedule.    Soon we’ll be streaming our shows so you can listen in at your convenience.

Thanks to Jackie and Marlow, we have some very good programs (including a new morning show at 10am) and we encourage everyone to check out the website and give us your feedback. We’ll be doing a sponsorship campaign, so if you’re business would like a mention on the radio, please get in touch with us and we’ll send you a sponsorship package.

We have many new PSA’s (Public Service Announcements) with regard to educating the public on marijuana, school bullying and yes…voting!  Jackie and Marlow even go into breaking down all the ballot initiatives. Tune in to 98.5FM and listen to your local community radio serving only Pueblo.  We strive to bring you some of the best music, interviews, mayor candidate interviews run 9am, 2pm, 6pm and 9pm Monday through Sat. and at the top of every hour on Sundays until the election. We also provide some engaging roundtables on a variety of subjects (homelessness, labor unions & suicide & bullying, etc.) We’d love you feedback on what programs you’d like to hear as well.

From all of us at Pueblo House(s)
