Final day with the Arvada volunteers

We started again this morning at 9 am, but it grew warm very quickly so we all navigated to shady areas to finish painting.  The brick was more onerous than expected, and took a lot more paint.  Luckily Sherwin Williams donated another 5 gallons of the blue (vinyl) paint so we could continue painting.  The other paint (Primer from Lowe’s) that we tried to tint, was way off color.  Brent from SW, has now, very generously, donated a total of 3 x 5 gallon buckets of paint so we could get our media house painted while the volunteers (who arrived from Arvada) were helping.

10 Volunteers helped transform a tired old dilapidated house into another little gem on 5th St.   At the end of our work day Jimi sang a song on the porch before we saw them off…a song very appropriate if you know the Jimi and Janet saga that continues on the Eastside.   Jimi & Janet went back at it when evening came and things cooled down to finish the east side blue after hearing it’s going to be even hotter tomorrow.

A big thanks to all who helped scrape, paint, and clean and especially those companies that donated (Neighborworks, Sherwin Williams, Lowe’s) supplies.
