Gardens & Music Therapy!

Last nights jam was fantastic. We enjoyed listening to a newbie who sang with Rose, Michael and Jimi. Monica has a great voice as it turns out and she plays the cello as well. She and Rose did some great harmonizing. We’re hoping she brings her Cello next Sat. Her mom plays violin and maybe she’ll join us next jam. The songs were so good last night, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Dylan and a whole lot of sing along tunes. We ended up on the stage where the weather was perfect, then went back inside to record some of what was being played.
Poor Monica must have been tired after a full day gardening in the yard. She certainly has a love of dirt. and not afraid to get right in there as obvious by the worms she was removing from our worm farm. I’d been feeding them for about 3 years, after it was donated to us by Rene Rowe. The worms were plentiful. We put a couple handfuls in the compost and then Monica spread some in the garden. We still have plenty to make more of the liquid gold (worm castings) for fertilizer.
Monica has also made a whole lot of Kombucha (known as the “Immortal Health Elixir” by the Chinese and originating in the Far East around 2,000 years ago, kombucha is a beverage with tremendous health benefits. … The sugar-tea solution is fermented by bacteria and yeast) for us. She’s split the mother and we now have about a dozen jars all nicely fermenting.
