Fun on Fifth May 27th in collaboration with NeighborWorks

Rain and all, it was a great day to celebrate! We started the afternoon with our MakerSpace kids time with Tim Roush and Travis Aleman who got plenty of smiles and excitement when the made paper rockets, which went quite a distance for a plastic bottle and a foot stomp. Afterward we lit up the clay oven to cook some trout and biscuits. Everyone enjoyed trout, salmon, potato salad and the grand finale` cupcakes in celebration of Vera Pulis’ 60th birthday. What a nice surprise when Ashleigh Winnans from NeighborWorks surprised us with a $2000 grant from NeighborWorks America (from our visit last fall when Janet was nominated for the Dorothy Richardson Award. The funds will be used for community events and projects. Thank you to all who weathered the weather and especially to all the volunteers (mostly Stan) who made the vision of a music house for youth a reality!
