Operation Paintbrush – Eastside Edition

Oct 3rd for Operation Paintbrush – This day was something short of a miracle, with over 500 volunteers coming together to make 15 houses shine like never before!   It was surely something to behold. People worked incredibly hard to bring life to old, tired buildings then planted trees, trimmed trees and weeded yards. There’s no doubt the value of homes just went up substantially on E 8th St. Thank you to all the work NeighborWorks did organizing this amazing event and to all the people who volunteered their time to make it happen. Special thanks to all the members of Pueblo House & EAST who came together on the house we had 1003 E 8th where Mary and her granddaughter were brought to tears many times during the day. The special moment at the end when all the “welcome” mats and ceramic pots were donated to homeowners to adorn their front entrance….truly a site to behold. Thanks to Cyndi, Stan, Mike & Patrick who did such a great job prepping the house up to 3 weeks before we were ready to paint. Cyndi and Stan worked tirelessly to make sure everyone else’s job went smoothly. Hats off to a very big sucess on this wonderful day!
